Facial Recognition Device Setup Guide

Facial recognition technology offers a seamless, secure, and efficient way to manage access control, attendance tracking, and identity verification. Whether you’re deploying these devices for office security, timekeeping, or customer authentication, proper setup is critical to ensure accuracy, performance, and user compliance.

This guide provides step-by-step instructions to configure your facial recognition system integrated with Payboy. By following these best practices, you’ll maximize security, minimize errors, and create a smooth experience for all users.


1. Physical Setup

  • Connect the power cable and Ethernet cable to the facial recognition device.

  • Note down the Device Serial Number found on the back of the device

2. Configure Network Settings

  • On the device, please navigate to:
    Settings > COMM. > Ethernet

  • Leave the Port as the default: 4370

  • Enable DHCP to auto-fill IP address and related fields. It should auto-fill if Ethernet is successfully connected

3. Configure Cloud Server Settings

  • Please navigate to COMM. > Cloud Server Setting

  • Turn on Enable Domain Name

  • Enter the following domain:
    https://payboy.biz

4. Add Device to Payboy Account

  • Log in to the Payboy system using your admin access and go to:
    Attendance > Facial Recognition

  • Click +Add Device b, then fill in:

    • Device Name

    • Device Type: Select BDE

    • Device Serial Number: Found on the back of the device

5. Verify Connection

  • The device should appear online in the system if connected successfully via Ethernet.
