Let's take a look at this example of an employee's leave balance, namely their childcare leave and annual leave balances:
Childcare Leave: 4/8.5
- 8.5 is the entitlement for the entire year.
- 4 is the number of leaves left as of today.
- 8.5 - 4 = 4.5 is the number of days applied for (regardless of pending or approved status).
Annual Leave: 19.5/20 (17+3)
- 20 is the entitlement for the entire year.
- 19.5 is the number of leaves left as of today.
- 20 - 19.5 = 0.5 is the number of days applied for (regardless of pending or approved status).
- (17+3) shows the breakdown of the leaves. 17 is the base entitlement for the year; +3 is the amount of leave addition due to either carry forward leave or leave given by manager. (Note: leave addition will always be shown after a + sign)
