Welcome to the guide on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), our newly released security feature designed to enhance the protection of your employee account and sensitive data.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing a secure environment, 2FA adds an extra layer of security by requiring two forms of identification—your password and a second verification method. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to set up 2FA and explain its benefits, helping you take full advantage of this powerful tool to safeguard your work account.

Important note:

  1. Please ensure that your company administrator/ HR personnel has enabled the 2FA settings for Employees by following the steps here.

  2. Please install any trusted 2FA application from the Play Store or Apple Store before following the steps below.

How to enable 2FA

As an employee, you can enable 2FA either through the website portal or the mobile app portal—both methods work seamlessly, so feel free to choose the one that's most convenient for you below.

A. Through Website Portal

  • Visit the Payboy login page. Enter your credentials to access your employee account.

  • Hover and click on your avatar on the top right corner of the page, and choose Security Settings.

  • You will be directed to the Change Password page, fret not you can skip this and click the Enable 2FA button instead. (Important note: If the Enable 2FA button is not visible, it means your admin or HR personnel has not enabled 2FA for employees through their admin access. In this case, please contact them and share this guideline to help them enable the required settings.)

  • Scan the QR code displayed on the page using your trusted authenticator application. Alternatively, manually enter the code shown on the page into your authenticator app.

  • After the code is successfully added, the OTP code will be showing on your authenticator application. Please key in the code and your account password.

  • Finish the setup by clicking the 'Confirm And Enable Two Factor' button. A green prompt will show confirming that you have successfully enabled 2FA, congratulations!

  • The page also displays your Recovery Codes. These codes are crucial as they allow you to regain access to your account if you lose access to your authenticator app, if you lose your phone, or need to verify your identity. Be sure to save these codes in a secure location.

B. Through Mobile Application Portal

  • In the Payboy application, open the side menu and select Settings.

  • You will be directed to the Settings page, where you will see the toggle for the 2-Factor Authentication Login. Simply press the toggle to enable or disable it.

  • Once enabled, a pop-up message will appear prompting you to enter your password. Please key in your account password and press the Confirm button to continue.

  • You will be redirected to the Setup 2FA Login page. Please follow the instructions provided to set up the authenticator app and verify the code generated. Then click Verify to continue.

  • Congratulations! A green message prompt will appear to confirm that 2FA has been successfully enabled, and the Recovery Codes will be displayed. Save these codes to unlock your account if you lose your phone, or access to your authenticator app, or need to verify your identity.

How does the login look like for the employee with 2FA enabled

For Employees Logging into the Mobile Application for the First Time After 2FA Activation

Regardless of whether the 'compulsory' option is selected, employees logging into the Mobile Application portal for the first time will be prompted to set up their Authenticator app and verify the code.

They should follow the on-screen instructions, then click 'Login Now' to return to the login page. There, they can enter the 2FA code generated by their authenticator app to complete the login process.

After that, employees logging in via the website portal or mobile application will encounter an additional page. On this page, they can enter the generated verification code from their authenticator app or use a recovery code if needed, then click Log In/ Verify. Please refer to the references below:
